Wacom Bamboo Test

This is hmm, Hannya? Well, I just wanted to do a test run with my tablet and create a 2d girl but look what it turned out…

Hannya - Wacom Bamboo Test
I wanted to color it but it turns out that my skills on handling brushes and blends is 0.

My First Tablet

Finally, I was able to get my hand on this baby. My first tablet, it’s Wacom Bamboo: Pen and Touch. Bought it online at Ynzal and just arrived yesterday and was really excited.

This is one of the second generation in the Bamboo family from Wacom. It’s a small tablet with both pen and multi-touch input. It’s black, sexy and has a sleek design.

Though it’s not a replacement for using mouse. I think this will help me, since my right arm is aching sometimes. Especially when doing vector stuff.

Color: Black
Tablet Buttons: 4 ExpressKeys
Size: Small

  • Approximately 6 x 3.5 inches active area for pen.
  • Approximately 5 x 3.35 inches active area for touch.
  • Approximately 10 x 7 overall size with pen in the holder.

Software:

  • Wacom Driver and Control Panel
  • Windows and Macintosh compatible
  • Corel Painter Essentials 4
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 (Win) and 6 (Mac)
  • Nik Color Efex

Pen:

  • 2 side buttons
  • Eraser
  • 3 spare pen nibs
  • 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity

Firefox 3.6 <rawr!>

Finally Firefox 3.6 is available for download. It was released yesterday and what can I say, it’s great!

The features? One is, it has improved overall speed, more faster than Firefox 3.5. Second, HTML 5 and CSS. Third, a new type of theme called Personas and many more.

Aside from that, I was able to create an illustration. For the first time I’m able to use and finished an artwork in Illustrator. Well, I’ve use Photoshop for the final touch.

I say, it’s really hard since I do my all of my vectors in Photoshop. I’m not comfortable yet with Illustrator but I hope I may be able to. (´ー`)y-~~

Red Christmas Wallpaper with Beat

Howdy! I finally manage to post something this month, I’ve been busy and lazy at the same time. Christmas is coming in a few days and here we are with a new wallie. And it’s not Santa-san this time, it’s a new guy. Though I don’t know his name.

But before that, here’s something new in me. I’ve been playing with Reason lately. It’s a kick-ass music software, just check the link. And here’s my first shit. Entitled Hyp by yours truly.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I just hope I’ll be able to create something long and more dark.

Anyways, have a good holidays. Again, dark Christmas wallpaper, another splatter and… dark. Available in 9 different resolutions. Enjoi.

Win7shell Plugin For Winamp

Win7Shell logoI’ve been using Winamp for about 3 years now. And it has been always my favorite among the other media player. Since then, I always set up my Winamp to “minimized to tray” just to not get in the way in the old windows taskbar. Now came Windows 7 with its new and improved Windows Taskbar. I found its convenience and decided to take advantage of its features. But found out that Winamp doesn’t act as it supposed to be when pinned in the taskbar. So here comes Win7Shell to the rescue, found this plugin on the net while searching for an answer!

So what is Win7Shell? It’s a simple plugin for Winamp, that integrates with the new Windows taskbar of Windows 7. I’d say a must have plugin for Winamp. That is, if your in Windows 7.

Features

win7shell01

  • Shows playback status and progress in the icon background of the taskbar icon.
  • Uses taskbar icon to display a “VU meter”.
  • Shows playback status using icon overlays on the taskbar icon.
  • Customizes the aero peek thumbnail with:
    • Winamp logo
    • Album art
    • Customized information about the current media playing
    • Custom image file
    • Progress bar, showing playback progress
  • Adds customizable player control buttons on the aero peek thumbnail.
  • Adds ‘Recent’, ‘Frequent’ and ‘Tasks’ categories to the jump list.
  • Winamp is now easier to find in 3DFlip.

It’s free and great plugin for Winamp users out there.

Windows 7 On My Machine

Windows 7Last week, Charlotte told me that she has a copy of a 64bit Windows 7 so I asked her to bring it in my place just in case.

I never really wanted to install new flavor of Windows but since I have already the copy of the OS and I’ve been thinking of reformatting my system, so I think I give it a try. I installed a 64bit Windows 7 and dropped Windows XP on my machine. It’s been a week now and so far everything is running smoothly, no hardware problems and all is well and stable. I think my system is ready for production.

I admit it, I’m started to liking this Windows 7, not for its aesthetically satisfying look but for its productivity boost that given me to my day to day work. All is well, jumping from window to another and finding files.

By default, Windows 7 takes over your boot-up process and wants to be your only OS, and Linux treats Windows like a weekend hobby you keep in a shed somewhere on your hard drive.

[Dual-Boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu in Perfect Harmony] – Kevin of lifehacker.com

Yeah, True. The only problem now in my machine is on how to restore my boot loader to boot my installed Ubuntu 9.10. And this is the problem since Ubuntu 9.10 uses Grub 2 by default. It’s new for me and I haven’t read the Grub 2 documentations yet. I tried restoring the boot loader by legacy method but it’s different (oTL). Anyways, the only solution now is to learn. Hooray~!

Happy 5th Birthday Firefox!

I’ve been using it since version 2.0 and it has served me well. As a token of my appreciation and celebration to it’s 5th year, I’ve made this illustration.

Happy B-day Firefox

Kudos to the people behind Firefox and to the community. And also to those who came up with the name!

Long live Firefox!
