The Not-So-Slimy Wallpaper

New wallpaper! It’s an octopus, a green one. Perhaps a mutant? I don’t know, I don’t really know the color. I just wanted it to be green and slimy, not your typical octopus eh? Anyways, this is the wallpaper version of the theme that I’ve been working on, it’s like a promotional wallpaper for the layout. The layout will be available soon, HTML format and hopefully a wordpress theme.

Ohh~ look, there’s an airplane and clouds!. Yeah right! I’m disappointed to those small clouds, I thought that I can attach the clouds to the timeline so that if I pan the timeline the clouds will also move like the airplanes. But it won’t, it won’t attach to that goddamn timeline! dammit. Oh well, enjoi the theme!

Ubuntu 9.04 – Jaunty Jackalope

I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 – Jaunty Jackalope on my machine today. This new version was released last month on April 23, 2009. It’s been a year since I got Hardy Heron, and I thought I give it a try for Jaunty Jackalope.
ubuntulogo904Thoughts about this version: As usual, easy to install. It’s fast, much faster than my old one. The boot time is fast. Has new look, sexy boot screen, new login screen(don’t like), and some new themes(don’t like). And of course better performance. Enabling restricted hardware is also easy, And I had no problem installing driver for my video card.

A Few list of updates in Ubuntu 9.04 – Jaunty Jackalope

  • Gnome 2.26.1
  • 2.6.28-11.37 Linux kernel
  • Open Office 3.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0.8
  • Supports for Ext4 file system
  • New desktop notification scheme
  • Faster boot performance (sexy boot screen)
  • and many more..

Just make sure that you check the integrity of the downloaded image/ISO before you burn the image/ISO into to your CD/DVD and another check for the integrity of your burnt media.

IE Tester: IE5.5 – IE8

ietester1

I found this package when I’m looking for replacement for my multiple IE. And I found this helpful since IE8 has already in public release. This package includes IE5.5, IE6, IE 7 and IE8(latest version), so you don’t have to download any stand alone IE or to install VMWare just to check your design in different version of IE. You just have to install and it will save your time when debugging or testing your design.

The minimum requirements to install this package is Windows Vista/ Windows XP with IE7. You can read more info and download this at:
http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage.

Also check out their debugBar, it’s an IE add-on much like firebug in Firefox.
Happy Coding!

Ta-da-da-da! Operation Reboot

Hello, from niflheim. I just noticed that my blog went hiatus. It’s been awhile since my last post. I’ve been busy lately, busy watching random anime series and busy playing random video games, I even forgot my work. Anyways here are some wallpapers and stuff that I haven’t publish in my blog for these past months:

dsanta-san

D. Santa-san is a wallpaper I created right after my third Gig Poster Design. You could say that it’s the wallpaper version but it has nothing to do with the gig. This is for chanlu’s Christmas update.

Mozilla FireFox 3

Firefox Download DayFirefox Download Day has ended. With over 8.3 millions of downloads of FireFox3 from all over the world in just 24 hrs. How sad, I have already installed beta when I heard about the news.

FireFox3 has new more improvements and more features than before. Examples are, one-click bookmarking, web site ID, the look and feel of the new browser and of course the improvements of performance.

One thing I love about this new feature is the smart location bar. The location bar is like it has an auto-complete function that drops down a list of your browsing history and matches whatever the keywords you typed in. For example you’ve just visited this blog a day ago and you happen to forgot the URL(ex: http://mydomain.com) of this blog and all you can remember is the page/site title which is “Parallel”. So, all you have to do is type in the location bar “Parallel” and a list of site from your browsing history will appear with parallel keyword in the URL or page/site title. The smart location bar also works with your bookmarked site and tagged.

And for your secure online payment and purchases, you can now check web site’s legitimacy. Just click the favicon for an instant identity overview, then click the button “More Information” to check the full information. You can view the web site identity, the saved cookies, how many times did you visited that site, the saved password and the technical details. There are more security features in the new Firefox to protect you and your privacy.

For more information visit Mozilla Firefox.
