I’ve been using it since version 2.0 and it has served me well. As a token of my appreciation and celebration to it’s 5th year, I’ve made this illustration.

A Search For Laptop Charger

A while ago, I’ve searching for laptop battery chargers, Google here and there. I don’t have a laptop and I don’t need chargers, it’s just I’ve been asked to by my cousin in abroad. He just said that his charger has been burnt and he needs a new replacement but cheap and reliable chargers that can be bought online because his too lazy to go to a local store in their place, so I found this site Amerimax Advance LLC. Searching for best prices for laptop battery chargers and adapters, luckily it seems that this site is the best place among my other site that I’ve been visited. This site offers a wholesale and retail of computer accessories and electronics parts, from digital camera accessories to laptop battery chargers. With fast shipping and no minimum order, also you can shop by different brand and they ship internationally.

Although I’m not the one who’s really buying the item, I’m happy that I found the site. It’s really a bother when you asked to do some work while you have lots of work in your hand. I just hope that he would found his laptop charger in that site and may live happily ever after.

Redmine in Dreamhost

This app was introduce by my girlfriend a few days ago. Since she’s using this for her thesis, I’ve got curious and ask what that apps do(aside from knowing that it is a project management). She explained it to me, and wanted me to add my portfolio as a project. And I said, why don’t I install it in my own domain. So I made a sub-domain and installed redmine. I finished the installation  without error. But when I visited my sub-domain, it loads but readmine didn’t load the CSS and sometimes it load but it doesn’t render properly.

So here’s a little guide to make fix the problem.

  1. Login to your SSH account in Dreamhost.
  2. Make a dummy rails application:
    rails dummyApp
  3. Now copy all the dispatch file from your dummyApp/public to your real installed Redmine app in public directory:
    cp dummyApp/public/dispatch.* subdomain.domain.com/public/
  4. Change the permission of your real apps public folder and the copied dispatch files to 755:
    chmod 755 subdomain.domain.com/public
    chmod 755 subdomain.domain.com/public/dispatch.*
  5. And finally copy the generated .htaccess in your dummyApp/public to your real installed Redmine app in public directory:
    cp dummyApp/public/.htaccess subdomain.domain.com/public/
  6. That should be it.

Note: as of Rails 2.1.0 the .htaccess file no longer exists in the default skeleton.

…except IE

Browse Happy: Switch to a safer browser today Have you ever wonder why your new purchased computer for after a few weeks or just days, it starts slowing down? Do you know what could be the cause? You might think, it’s the specs of your computer or hardware failure or the store damaged it. Hmm, I don’t think so. But if your using IE, then IE would be the problem.

It’s not that IE’s slowing your computer down (or is it?), it’s the malicious sites that you accidentally visited, through pop-ups, direct download links and the other stuff( *…other stuff*). And that malicious sites often install adware cookies, spyware, trojans, viruses and even your personal information might be given to others by your IE without you knowing it.

And while we’re in it let me say more. The browsing speed is super slow that you can even watch T.V. or clean your desk while the page is loading. And what happen if you surfing or doing some research on the net and you want to visit more site? Your desktop will become crowded, that is, if you’re using IE6. And if you happen to visit a site and there’s this error in that website or something like that, you’ll be forcefully close the IE and restart again, and your visited site will be gone… …How sad.

Okay, so much for IE. One solution to that problem is STOP browsing with IE, find another browser that you would feel free and safe in browsing the internet. But before you stop, let’s clean your computer first with your favorite anti-spy-virus-whatsoever software. And uninstall IE or if you can’t, hide it, delete the shortcut in your desktop. And when your ready, then start.

There are many kinds of browser available on the net and are free, fast and secure. But if you ask me what browser am I using, I am using Mozilla Firefox. Well, it’s fast and secure. It has also plugins and addons that you can download for you to add more feature on your browsing experience.

If you’re not sure on what browser you want, then BrowseHappy might help. Their, you will find a listing of browser and their description as. Well, see you then. Happy browsing.
