Mozilla has just release Firefox 3.5 today with a lot of improvements and loaded with new features. Did I say improvements? In terms of performance, there’s a lot of improvements than the older versions of firefox. It loads the web pages pretty fast than I expected and of course with less memory.
Speaking of memory, one thing I look up upon upgrading my firefox is the memory usage. I noticed that the memory usage drops from 120k MB to 90k MB of memory, it has more than 5 active tabs.
As for the new features, here’s a few: Private Browsing, lets you surf the web without a trace. Tear-off Tabs, lets you separate or create a new window from the group of tabs. β These two features, If you have Google Chrome with you then it’s like that. β And the Open Video and Audio, this support open video and audio formats, these open formats also allow modern web pages to display media without requiring a plug-in to install.
These are just some of the features and improvements of latest version, what can you say? It even speak 70 different languages. More info about the features can be found here.
Download Firefox 3.5 now.

I got it yesterday. I noticed the tab feature, and mostly how it supports ICC profiles (when you Save For Web) in Photoshop – I think that could either be a good or bad thing depending on how you use it. Because of the color differences when I save, I usually have ICC profiles unchecked… but it’s nice to know the original colors can be saved (especially if you’re using a color correction software like me).
This is great indeed, you can view images in Firefox how they were intended to be. Although as you said, itβs either be a good or a bad thing on how you use it. Also I have a little knowledge about color correction and ICC profiles so when saving, ICC profile is unchecked.
